Meet our Faculty

Nancy Sayer, MS, PCC

BCC-logo2Nancy Sayer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Professional Certified Coach with over 20 years of experience, who specializes in working with clergy and key leaders to maximize their ministry potential.

She has a postgraduate certificate in Organization Development from Benedictine University. Nancy has been helping people grow and develop in their relationships, ministries, and life for over 20 years. She has served on the staff of a large ELCA church in the Chicagoland area for more than 12 years, working closely with pastors, staff members, and key leaders in dealing with organizational and relational issues.

Nancy is also the co-author of the GPSS Leadership Coach Training Program where she has trained many clergy and other leaders in the coaching discipline. She has worked closely with faculty from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and has provided training for faculty and students at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.

Nancy has provided coaching and consultation to many pastors and congregations of varying denominations in the areas of change management, leadership skills, healthy team development, strategic planning, personality preferences in the workplace, team accountability, emotional intelligence, and appreciative inquiry.

James W. Haun

Jim Haun is a leadership coach and consultant for clergy and congregations. He is co-author of the GPSS Leadership Coach Training Program and Consultant for GPSS Leadership Coaching at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary where he served as Director of Church Leadership Development with responsibility for the design and implementation of executive education programs for congregational leaders. He is a consultant and coach in the Healthy Church Initiative of the Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Jim is a Kellogg Executive Scholar, having received a Certificate of Professional Achievement in Non-profit Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is certified by The Leadership Circle as an administrator/interpreter of the Leadership Circle Profile and Leadership Culture Survey.

An ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, Jim has thirty-five years of pastoral experience across a broad range of congregational sizes, styles and locations. Jim has served as a consultant and trainer for the Division of Ordained Ministry, General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church, working with annual conferences in the development of training, support, and account­ability systems for ordained, commissioned and licensed United Methodist clergy.
